The 4th chapter of Matt. he tells us that, after Jesus was baptized, He was lead into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit; and after fasting for 40 days and night he was hungry.
It was after his fasting that the devil came to tempt him, Often when we are vulnerable or going through something that is when the devil comes along and try to offer us a so called way out.
He tempted Jesus three times, on the third temptation the devil took Jesus up into a high mountain and showed Him all the Kingdom of the world and its glory.
Imagine being able to see it all, everything in one glance, he offered Jesus the world, imagine having something that already belongs to you offered back to you. Because in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth, the earth is the Lord and the fullness there of. Even in the Garden of Eden the devil tempted Eva with the forbidden fruits from the only tree that God told them not to eat from, the tree of good and evil, he showed it to her. And because of their disobedient it gave the devil the right not ownership to roam earth, and he is doing that now and trying to devour, destroy whom so ever he can.
Satan whole plan is to destroy our relationship with God, to steal our joy and kill any peace we have through Christ Jesus; he doesn’t care about us, he just want the glory and praise of God. He want to rule heaven and earth, he wants to rule over everything and the only way, the only chance was to make Jesus accept his offer and be disobedient to the will of God. But he failed, and when we are obedient to the will of God then the devil fails again; to God be the glory, it is to Him we give the glory and if we are not giving it to God then who are we giving the praise to. I give God all the glory and the praise, I accept Him as my Lord and Savior, my beginning and my ends, thank you Lord God for second chances. Amen
