We often seek God for guidance and direction, we ask Him to lead and guide us, but we fail to follow the direction He gives us; but we go about trying to solve and fix things ourselves. The woman with the issue of blood had done all she could do, went everywhere she could go, then one day she heard that Jesus was passing by. Now I don’t know how it went about but I’m sure she had a battle trying to decide what to do; trying to decide whether she should keep the law and stay away hidden, because the law was that a woman had to be put away during this time, or should she trust the other struggle within, the one where God is leading and guiding her, and go and just touch the hem of His garment. Now the Doctor that she sort only broke her and left her broken, but here’s a physician that can heal and deliver, maybe she heard about the man with the palsy, or some other miracle He did, but there’s a pull within all of us, God leading His children along, so stepping out on faith she touched the hem of His garment and was made whole. What she did was give God the glory, let God be made magnified in the situation, others were blessed because of her obedient to the will of God to go and just touch His hem, go and trust and by her faith she was made whole.
Our testimony is based on the test that we go through in life, when we overcome them through faith we tell others of the struggle we went through, we tell them how we overcame through faith in God. But what people normally see is the outcome and not the struggle. They see us standing there telling how we were made strong, how we got the victory; but sometimes it’ s a better testimony when others can see the before as well as the after, and know without a doubt that it was God and God alone and our faith in Him is what brought us out, glory belongs to God.
I have Bell Palsy’s where the right side of my face droops and twist to the left, looks like I had a stroke, and when I talk my speech is slurred and my mouth twist to the left. Now all I want to do is stay home and hide until its clears and then tell others how I was healed through the blood of Christ, how I trusted in God. But God, who is rich in grace and mercy reminded me of how the man born blind was like that not because his parent sinned or him, but it was so that God gets the glory, God be magnified. So I know I’m here today because God bless me and all that I’ve gone through I have not hid from God people, but I allowed them to see the struggle I had to go through in my flesh and how through faith and trust in God I was healed and delivered.
I’m not a spokesperson for Bell Palsy’s but I’m a follower of Christ, I’m letting God be magnified in my life, I’m letting others know that it is in God that I trust and I walk by faith and not by sight; it is to Him I give the glory and the praise. It’s not my strength you see standing but it’s the strength of God and His promises, it is in God that I can do all things because He’s the one that strengthen me and not me myself. To God be the glory and let His light shine and not we ourselves, let others see your struggle and in the process see the will of God at work in each and every one of us.
